Imran khan
Pakistani politician, former prime minister of Pakistan and founder president of Karachi Development Authority Karachi. In 2016, he was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan from Quetta, a city in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the capital region. His political career began as an activist in 1947, serving as an air hostel worker and then as a driver and a teacher. After earning his high school diplomas at Faisal College, Lahore in 1989, he became the first person in Pakistan to attend postgraduate studies abroad (a country called England) under their Commonwealth scheme on August 22, 1992, when he returned home after three years, becoming the oldest person ever to do so. He was then one of the few politicians who were granted entry into Pakistan's military for military training and training. In 1993, he took up the position of chairman of Quetta City Council that same year, he has also been awarded the title “Quaid-e-Azam" by Nawaz Sharif. During this time, he successfully advocated the construction of modern roads in Quetta and constructed several large infrastructure projects like hospital, schools, hospitals, water supply network, power transmission system and other social issues like women’s education. As part of these initiatives, he launched the Pindi Dam project along with the opening of a dam reservoir in Murree in 1995. The project was later approved by the government on February 28, 1997. A small hydroelectric power plant was built by Pindi Power Ltd. It produces electricity. This project was designed by British engineering firm EDF, but it took two weeks because Pindi Electricity Group had failed to secure a major international bank of any country to finance the project. Imran Khan is widely known all over the world for what he did during these projects. To be more specific: when they started developing the road, he decided to build it as it will save lives and provide better transport services to people of Quetta. When he completed the dams, he wanted people to know how much water there would be left, he explained to them the importance of providing clean water and how critical it is for the development of human life. From here Imran Khan realized that we must achieve economic success for each nation. He decided to solve problems faced by people and gave priority to poverty eradication and job creation. He has been successful in creating opportunities for poor people to get jobs. With all these achievements, he tried to become strong in business and social welfare. Alongside, Imran Khan has made significant contributions towards national socio-economic goals such as development that is free of corruption, good governance, peace, prosperity and religious tolerance. He developed Quetta - a provincial capital - a city of 13 million people in 1991. Before Quetta, Quetta is mostly a rural area in Punjab, but as soon as Imran Khan entered politics, he immediately embarked upon building a new city – Islamabad. While promoting Islamabad, other areas like Old City, Bahria Town, Mianwali, Charsadda, Sheikhupura, Kot Likhpat, Liaquatabad City and others were being developed. In 1996, he took office of Chairman of Karachi Planning Board. Pakistan now has a total population of around 200 million people with 3% living below the poverty line. Around 2 million people live in squalid conditions in cities and villages due to bad planning and mismanagement. Despite all these shortcomings, the urban poverty rate is 4 percent.
In 2003, Imran Khan visited Nandipur Sahib and inaugurated a new park, which could house the largest public library in Asia. Later on, the Central Zoo, in Quetta Zoo, was upgraded to bring more than 700 animals from across the country for conservation; Pakistan Zoo in Peshawar Zoo Zoo and Sindh Zoo in Hyderabad Zoo were also upgraded.
